The 4th June and 20th July 1976 saw the Sex Pistols perform at the Lesser Free Trade Hall in Manchester. So many groups that later became seminal and earthshattering were set-up after members of those later groups attended these mind-blowing deck-clearing gigs; people such as Howard Devoto and Pete Shelley (who organised the gigs), members of Joy Division, the Smiths, the Fall, Magazine, the Buzzcocks and John Cooper Clarke – among many others – were there...
Not all of them who got their own groups together or were already in the process of getting their shit together were necessarily strictly Punk – but, let us say, were at least heavily influenced by Punk.
Hence then, this period in time and what followed, X-Ray Moon thought should be ‘marked’ and noted and and and... and and... and, this is Post-Punk Etcetera...
X-Ray Moon states some of these groups could be defined as Punk, New Wave or Alternative.
Whatever belongs wherever: THIS IS POST-PUNK ETCETERA!!!!!!!!!!
