Dynamic techno workout on DJSoc017 as production officer Nicky J takes us deep for an hour of weighty electronic compressions. Having set up an electro podcast whilst at Sixth Form, Nick's DJing style has since stayed firmly rooted within the 4/4 realm, having been directed towards house after seeing Juan Sanchez play at Barcelona's Razzmataz club, and the likes of Sebastian Leger and Will Saul at London's now defunct Matter venue. Moving forward, Nick's tastes have since evolved towards the deeper and darker end of the spectrum, as all those with a keen interest in house and techno can see in the killer tracklist he delivers for DJSoc017. Here a personal favourite in MRSK's 'Black Keith' is partnered with hardwax badman Shed (under his much lauded 'Wax' guise), whilst Maya Jane Coles and Midland flex their deep house muscles as the set gradually winds down to the silky sounds of Canada's finest. One for the heads. Don't sleep!
