In 1985, armed with every penny in my bank account, I took the plunge into the DJ world, investing in two Technics 1200 SLK Turntables and a Realistic Mixer. Countless hours were spent honing my craft in my parents' basement, crafting mixtapes that became the soundtrack of our school days. Joining forces with 'Funky Beat Productions,' we set dance floors ablaze in Oakville's local banquet and union halls, battling rival DJ groups from Mississauga, Toronto, and Etobicoke, pushing the boundaries of mixing and scratching to create unique and infectious beats that got kids grooving.
