This is the first of a two-part series of emo mixes that are on the deep and dark side of house. Part One, Mind Games, tells the story of being in the early stages of a new relationship, where things aren't what they seem. Overtones of danger, sex and longing, with a hint of foreboding of the pain that is follow. It's haunting, yet compelling -- you know you shouldn't continue down the same path but you simply cannot stop yourself. Fucking mind games.

I have a note on my fridge that says "My expectations are set to high.That my frustrations and disappointments are because I need to adapt and change." I wrote this in regards to music to humble myself because as much as I looked I couldn't find anyone who moved me or even slightly impressed me. I took it down after listening to this because fuck that my expectations aren't to high everyone else just lowered theres.Amazing. My soul is smiling.

5 years in the making! I started putting together this mix in early 2014, with the structure and EQ being completed not too long after. Despite zeroing in on my artistic vision as I practiced, something wasn't sitting right, so I put it away to focus on other things. Each year I would bring it out again, relearn all the moves and pacing, tweaking things here or there and getting to the point of recording several takes. But before I could finish, it would get shelved again either by accident or re-prioritization of other endeavors.
Cut to present day, I made it a 2019 goal to finish this once and for all and so here we are.
