And Sometimes Why

And Sometimes Why

Featuring the smash Di Melo track "A.E.I.O.U" (hence the title 'and sometimes y'), this mix covers Brazilian boogie, Somalian funk, Jamaican dub, Japanese disco, Nigerian heat, & UK breakbeats. Along the way you'll also hear classic feel good tracks; but I also wanted a chance to showcase some more obscure tracks like "Yabaal" by the Dur-Dur Band, which I have been itching to work into a mix for a while now. With unique sounds comes the difficulty of fitting it into a mix, but I'm always up for the task. After the Dur-Dur Band feature things kick up a notch and never look back until the stone cold closer that is "Funky Flushin'" by Yamashita Tatsuro. It's been really cool to be able to re-connect with my roots via Japanese music, so I wanted to let this song finish the set. I hope you enjoy both the familiar (a.e.i.o.u.) and the unfamiliar (and sometimes y), and see that both are valuable.

If you enjoyed this mix, please leave me a comment, share this with a friend, & subscribe!
