Kino - Sorrow
(from Russian)
On the cold ground stands a big city,
There, streetlights glow and cars honk.
And above the city - night.
And above the night - the moon.
And tonight the moon is blood red.
The house stands, the light is lit,
Through the window you can see far.
So where does the sorrow come from?
And it seems i'm alive and well,
And it seems life is without grief.
So where does the sorrow come from?
And around - grace; not a damn thing in sight.
And around - beauty: can't see a damn thing.
And all shout, "Hurrah!"
And all run forward.
And above it all rises the new day.
The house stands, the light is lit,
Through the window you can see far.
So where does the sorrow come from?
And it seems i'm alive and well,
And it seems life is without grief.
So where does the sorrow come from?
