I have read Bernard Cornwell's Sharpe series so many times since I was 14 years old that it could almost be said ad infinitum. I love Sharpe, he is an underdog dare-do ruthless soldier who will get the job done even if people think he is a shithead. I also like Sean Bean (He is a Yorkshire so I have to, it's the law), but Sean is a bit of a bean, and as such I can only like him in the Sharpe series (TV Movies) and also Ronin with Robert De Nero cos in Ronin, Beansean is a right twat, plays a character that is a right tool ("Raspberry Jam, anyone?"), which is why I prefer him in Sharpe.
Yet I was much surprised a handful of weeks ago when I re-watched 'Sharpe's Waterloo', which as a side-note has a wealth of British Actors in it - not least Geoffrey Chaucer from A Knights Tale - and I do not believe I have ever heard Sharpe Bean saying "twat", and I certainly know he never said it in print. So imagine my surprise when I watched Waterloo and heard Sean say those abominable things.
