It's A New Day! is the name of the J.C. Davis LP. The entire album is great and "Buttered Popcorn" is i.m.o. the best tune on it. Mo' Popcorn you might enjoy: "Butter (For Yo Popcorn)" by Brother Jack McDuff (Down Home Style album) "The Popcorn" by James Brown Band (James Brown Dances And Directs With the James Brown Band, The Popcorn) Ha, what a title for an album! "Lowdown Popcorn" by the James Brown Band. This track is overdubbed with audience reaction on his "Sex Machine" double LP and the better unedited cut is on two CD compilations. One is called "Soul Pride", the other "James Brown, The Singles Vol.6: 1969-1970". And finally Brown recorded an tune called "Popcorn 80s" but that wouldn't have fit into your set. A great tune though. It's on Brown's last Polydor album "Nonstop!" from 1981. So fare the Brownology :-) And thanks again for all the Popcorn I didn't know before! Tasty!
Thanks for the tips! I'm sure there must be hundreds of popcorn funk tunes out there. That said, I did try and stay away from too many James Brown tunes in this one. Although it was quite hard. Hence why Mashed Potato Popcorn is here in a different version ;)
