South African Bubblegum & synth pop from 80's and 90's // This mix is diffent from the others, and results of hours of digging and searching about Bubblegum music. First i didn't liked it, i found it too much "pop" and too much "produced"... and then, after digging and listening a lot of african music with friends, i finally felt in love with Umoja, Brenda Fassie, Marumo.... and all of Heads Records... It's very different from my other mixes, but when i play one of this tracks live it always match very well on the dancefloor... It's atypic, flashy and groovy, it's a nostalgic music, definitly, and it have a strong historic and cultural meaning too. Of course the Soundway compilation "Gumba Fire" helps me a lot, but also the work of DJ Okapi (thanxxx) and of my favourite record shop, Bongoe Joe in Geneva "introduced" me to this sound. Please, enjoy !! Hope you'll like it :)
