Splish Splash

OMG, Chucky T! This shit is ALL from THIS century!! That is sooooo unlike you.

Yeah, unfortunately it is. Ages and stages. But I’m proud to say I got out of my comfort zone this time. And I really enjoyed the challenge of limiting my search for “rain” songs to only those recorded in the past decade.

For that I was richly rewarded. “Red Umbrella” by Forest Sun just makes you want to go find some puddles to splash in. Heather Nova’s haunting “Storm” is one of those songs you have to stop what you’re doing, sit down, and listen. Folk music is far from dead as long as singer/songwriters are penning tunes like Piers Faccini’s “A Storm Is Going To Come”.

But my real find was Dana Glover. Never heard her, never heard of her. Recorded one dynamite album – Testimony - at least 5 serious keepers – and then she pretty much disappears. Dana, I hope you are very much in love and incredibly happy. This cloudcast is for you.
