Yes my brother pon di Rhine though now adays my talents are better suited to serving knodel and gravy, back in the day when the selection requst it you know me a go bring it.😜🐵🐴
Recorded about 14-15 years ago but the jungle sound is timeless. Cody Chesnutt knew that back in 1995 when he was recording "the Seed" for Kemet Crew..... Cos you can't stop him from loving you...lols. We nah ease up upon di jungle sound
The day I found you on youtube, the reason.... I tuned in was I was dragging my soundsystem out of storage getting it ready to sell 8X 18" subs 4x 2x16 bass 4x 2x12" mids and 6 2x8" and tweeter tops and a load of Thomann Music shop DE T amps mainly 2X TSA 4000 4x E1500 and 3x E800 as not been moved for 8years so thought I'd let my friend from near Leeds have them. I am too old and ill to drag them round anymore. I took them to remote location let the amps warm up a few hours before running a signal just had a lap top with me so flung on a couple of youtube vids gradually raising the volume till I got notice you was playing. At one point in the message tree feed I mentioned the dust filling up my hut??? Cos I was pushing your set out at about 11,000watts The putty that holds the glass in place was falling out the glass was rattling that hard lol, at a place called Conker near Ashby De La Zouch just South of Nottingham. " 2 days later where I was storing the cabs and amps flooded due to a bad storm so really lucky I moved them when I did. His Junglist Tabernacle (JAH) Soundsystem was saved from biblical flood. If you look at my profile a mix called Dred Come To ConKer (cos of the place where I was pumping out your mix) the pic is 2X 18" scoops laid on there side with 1x 2X16" cabs and just a little bit of the top cabs can be seen but has made the top cabs a bit easier to transport and stack by splitting them up into 2 cabs. That is 1 of 4 stacks. I would have taken pics but phone was on low on power and used it to tether for youtube access and it died about 10 mins after you finished
I just changed the pic here... My old dining room cabinets now gone to a more useful life in Leeds this is a quarter of the stack and a few shoe boxes of 7s lol
Yeah the mighty Axis Soundsystem "Vintage Reggae inna Velvet Earthquake style" from Huddersfield UK. Been vastly upgraded since that pic was taken about 2008 or 9. check my shows page and lols at my dinning room cabinets from way back then on the pic for Dred come to conker mix. I'm off road like 12-13 years now but in my yout I was dub force to be reckoned with. ☠
I think this was a practice set for a clubland night up in my home County West Yorks around 2008 or 9. Be like Dub Lab in Bradford, Powah (where the pic is from in Huddersfield, I do remember hanging out with RSD Rob from Smith n Mighty at that gig) or might of been Sub Dub in Leeds so long ago I can't remember, when one gig merges into another. Seems like another life ago
I should have listened before posting my selections, this was a radio show recording while on road booked to rent out a sound and marquee for a start up festival near Boston told the guy I would do it for petrol money, 4 bottles of brown ale and a bottle of Bombay sapphire for wifee, plus needed a space to do Friday night show. He told me he had a set of decks turned out to be a set of Kam belt drives. Called it Screwface because he was horrified listening to my radio show he was more pub step than dub step lol, and I was concentatin so hard not to screw things up using belt drives my usual psycho joker smile was lost trying to tame those decks
ahahahahah fair play man btw. "petrol money, 4 bottles of brown ale and a bottle of Bombay sapphire" best rider ever ;) I did a show for some pineapple fritters and a quarter ;)
Lols yeah I been there too but no pineapples and a short quarter the tight bugger. Some of the best parties I ever had cost me but just a bit of petrol for the generator. They where all worth the cost meeting fun and messy people
Don't get me wrong, its good to go out there for coin even if its just a bit for record or MP£ budget, speakon plugs and fane tweeters don't pay for themselves after all but every now again its good to turn up at some random spot with your own kit, no timetables just do your own thing off the leash of clubland smoking restrictions give back to the people who gurn and dribble as they dance like monkees before you is good for the lol factor alone. You get those random DJs who turn up asking nicely to play, come across some real talent that way better than Ronny No Show I mean Size and his £20k booking fee lols
I came up in seedy clubland but going in doing Uni gigs with bands and tight timetables (as long as you don't get one of those JackAss's like me shouting one more) working with people who run a show moving away from those gigs petty type DJs seeking super stardom in club with 30 people in it wanting every slot for themselves of which there are many. One of my first proper shows 1988 or 9 with the ORB and Professor on mixdown at Hudds Poly SU bar aka the black hole gives a good perspective on how to run a good show

straight truth... it was never about the riders and money... it was the vibe and party. All day
