Very interesting but no the Morris Oxford didn't have wood, that would be the shooting break. Jenny mentioned making coats from army blankets during Ww2 - my mother had one a bit like plaid but more suttle, it was semi fitted, very elegant. Also they made shirts from the blackout material and put a row of pearl buttons along the collar for decoration. My mother used to remake second hand clothes bought from the second hand shop - as you didn't need coupons.
