This is a mix about my experiences living in NJ, USA during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In January I worked in a refrigerated warehouse for cut flowers. Learned that 20 year-olds are listening to ice rink music like Baby Bash remixes. I'm 31 so I'm basically Steve Buschemi saying "what's up fellow kids" but still un-embarassed to be obsessssed with this Halsey song whattt?? I would get off from that job at midnight and rush home to dance to it.
February-March I worked retail selling mattresses and Muzak brought "Danger Zone" into my life. Got furloughed and moved into my tiny grey/pink room. I sit among lime green seendlings and black taper candles and listen to the Met Opera's stream every night. I'm in love. Emotional. Tried to use Gulch and Carcinoid to force a creeping peripheral disaster around this mix. Alternately, used new agey songs to share a plotline about taking deep breaths. Humans are more interdependent than ants. This has been the centerpiece of my reflecting..
