If you have ever wondered what Tangerine Dream’s 1978 album ‘Cyclone’ would sound like without the experiment with vocals, here is the answer… and to compensate for the disappearance of Steve Jolliffe’s voice (his vital instrumental contributions remain, of course!), the show also features a long excerpt from his solo sequel, ‘Cyclone Spheres’.
Other music in the show is as varied as always, ranging from Tomosla to Tomita and from Nash the Slash to Les Baxter. As always, if there are any pieces that you particularly enjoy or which you would like to know more about, please add a comment.

@phantomcircuit saw them on the Force Majeure tour as well. They just kept coming back 😀
No I didn’t. Oh, you did? 😜 Very nice!
It’s lucky that the ‘Force Majeure’ tour did not have to be cancelled due to unforeseeable circumstances. 😬
I really like Cyclone. A 13 yr old me went to see TD at Portsmouth Guildhall on the Cyclone tour. Rising Runner is a cracking track, sounds just as good with no vocals. Thanks for playing these 👍
I’m glad that the experiment was of interest to someone else too! Thanks for listening and for letting me know your opinion.
Besides the Cyclone Tour in 1978, Tangerine Dream in the ’70s also played in Portsmouth in 1976 and 1978. They must have liked it there!
