CONTENT WARNING: Sexual Assault, Rape
The subject of sexual assault is not an unfamiliar one, and yet every time it happens to someone, the world of men goes silent if not on the offensive. I wanted to talk about how I feel about this subject, with complete awareness of my privilege as a cisgender heterosexual man in this world. I am not doing this to take up space. I am doing this because as a cis-het man it is my responsibility to talk to other men who share my privilege about this. I am using my platform with this music program to do this because it is the most visible, accessible, medium I have available to me in which to send this message to as many people as possible at once. I am speaking to the Rio Grande Valley, but if you are listening from another place and feel that people in your area should hear this, by all means share it with them.
