The pulsing tremolo of a Vibraphone can induce a simmering feeling of ease, like the satisfaction of throwing the last piece of wood on a smoldering bonfire. I've spent the last few months collecting tracks outside of the jazz, classical, exotica, and bossa nova worlds in which the instrument is traditionally heard, crediting everyone from Leon Russel to Tristan Fry 'on the vibes'.
