Matthew Noone recorded his current release "Let Luv B Ur Guru" at home on a 4 track cassette recorder. He borrowed an old machine, bought some tape in a charity shop and made a record. The record features Matthew playing the Sarode, a 23 string lute he came across on his travels in India.
The Sarode is played in Indian classical music, which Matthew studied for years: "i'm not playing the instrument in a traditional way, the whole idea was to create contemporary pieces on the Sarode. Some of them are pieces that would fit within the Irish tradition, jigs and polkas, and some are just pieces of music that don't really fit any tradition."
Originally from Australia, Matthew Noone now resides on East Clare.
