In the usual rhetorical style of those "good people," who tend to speak from the high moral ground, hiding behind others to conceal their moral failings and their violations of the social welfare to which we are obligated. It's a strategy to judge others, because it's the others who are guilty, not them. That has been the conservative strategy.
