This week’s broadcast included everything from: dub, reggae dancehall styles (Mo Kolours, Richie Spice and Vybz Kartel); beat oddities (Teebs, 100 Akres); some gorgeous soul music from Oz outfit Hiatus Kaiyote, James Blake, Lana Del Ray, Marlena Shaw and Tiombe Lockhart; jazzy hip hop from PE and Floetry; and percussive broken house and beats from Seiji, Lyric L and BITA (on a sick refix for Amy W). We also gave you a track each from the latest LPs of two of the veteran masters of the breakbeat – Goldie and Photek – dark, deep, soulful, emotional music. We bring you that FONK with a ridiculously sick Kon edit of Parliament, and some electronic boogie disco styles from Funkineven and Ruf Dug. Rodriguez weighs in with the epic Sugarman and we showcase some raw, heavy soundsystem-destroying trap/bass music from the likes of Watapachi, Baaur, Dj Snake, Jus Now, Drake and Koloah.
