Third show, Prash still away, mrjofa on the 1s and 2s. Kicked off the show with some future bass rumblings - emotive and eerie strings (Romare) and rough up badman talk (Pangaea, Swing Ting) before making way for the lightsabre grime assault of Slackk. FlyLo and Inc bless us with beautiful and delicate melodies and twinkles as we transition into some big soulful statements from the likes of Frank Ocean, Andrew Ashong and Tye Tribbett. We get raw with some De La, Tribe and Mobb Deep heat before getting on a dub reggae vibe (Augustus Pablo, King Tubby, Gregory Isaacs, Steel Pulse). Following a little afro-brazilian shakedown, we indulge in a bit of classic Arthur Russell (Francois K on the buttons for Dinosaur L) and Thundercat before getting deep with Actress. A couple of downtempo soul gems (Jai Paul, The Weeknd) and a little tribute to the legend Donald Byrd who sadly passed away last week. Moodymann closes us out.
