The Ihumatao area in South Auckland contains the Otuataua Stonefields which is the only area in New Zealand left with traces of early Maori settlements. Later this year, the area near the Stonefields is expected to have 500 houses built on it as a part of Auckland’s Special Housing Area developments. 95bFM reporter Momoko Burgess talks to Pania Newton about her Save Our Unique Landscape campaign in which Pania and other locals hope to stop the housing development taking place.
