This is a set I did for Larry Grogan at Please visit and take a look at the awesome online Allnighter he has posted. Also if you can donate to keep the blog going. Larry and Vincent the Soul Chef are the guys who are responsible for inspiring me to get back to digging after taking a 10 year hiatus. I’ve been on a life rollercoaster over the last few years and this has become one of my most profound ways of expressing myself. Honestly, It took me a while to figure out a concept for this one. Always trying to be diverse I created a nice blend of Sweet Soul and Funk this time around. Both are actually sets I did live at KFAI in Minneapolis last month. After listening to them I decided to take the time to tighten them up, then added a bit more soul . The B side a tight groove of some killer funk selections that will keep you moving. Enjoy

Eddie G' Giles, O.D. Williams, and Reggie Sadler are definitely my favorites out of this mix. I play Soul Feeling all the time along with Tony Mason's "Groove City." Random thought but at times that O.D. Williams track sounds a little like Eli "Paperboy" Reed at the vocals.

Proper heavy funk 'n' soul here, my bro-THA! U got a lotta love from the UK on this>

DJ Mordecai

I like the funk joints in here. that Festivals one is cool too

your collection kicks ass! in the nicest possible way. we've learned so much from your selections.

The Soul Chef's Fufu Stew

I caught this one on the F16C post... yes, you killed it with the utterly fantastic 45's you have. I was thrilled to be a part of the pledge drive; all the sets were top notch... maybe one day we can share a DJ stand together down the road :)

Peace and blessings.

Talk of the Town - Soul & Funk

& Bernard Drake is purely jaw dropping. Wow.

Talk of the Town - Soul & Funk

That's the prettiest Willie Tee I've heard...

An utterly AMAZING collection of records. That Festivals cut freakin' killed me. I can't stop listening to that one. Up there amongst the best straight SOUL cuts I've ever been turned on to.

Love your style and what you do, kid. BIGNESS!!!

Peace and SOUL... HSB
