A portion of my 3am set from Tess Fest 2009, played inside an equipment-filled open-sided tent. There was some trouble with the turntables that night (as often happens in the middle of the night at an outdoor event when the dew starts to wreak havoc on vinyl and the needles), but luckily I had my CD book with me. I would have played more funky and a lot less "techy" had I used my vinyl. Instead, I played some of what I was playing at clubs like Level/Pure that year. It starts with some disco flavors, but quickly dives into some deeper progressive and minimal tech-house. The mix collects energy and more of a "club" sound as it goes along...then slows down and finishes on a dub and disco remix note, sounding a bit like the whole thing started off. It's a bit of a showcase of the styles I was playing the most of the past year. Thank you Daha for recording everyone's sets that night.
