DJ KL × 44flavours — "Teils Tiles" Ambience Mix

This mix grew out of a conversation between DJ KL and 44flavours around their "Teils Tiles" works.

Rather than choosing one track for each piece, KL approached the works as a whole, exploring the duo’s process, improvisation, action/reaction, and their relationship to colour, rhythm, abstraction and figuration.

Through an interview, messages and voice notes, the exchange gradually became part of the making of the mix itself.

KL describes the result as creating space through sound, bringing together different textures and “sonic colours” across jazz, ambient and electronic music. Among the references is Frank Ocean’s Pyramids, chosen as a subtle response to Julio’s mention of Channel Orange during the interview.

The roughly 30-minute mix is designed to be revisited—experienced as an atmosphere, a sequence of details, or something that gradually reveals new connections with each listen.
