Just like the entire family of the first acid genres, acid house, acid trance, and acid techno tracks are based around the sounds of the TB-303 bass synthesiser. Often its gurgles play the role of both the leading melody and the bass part, though with some differences. In acid techno, for example, it’s a distorted roar of acid sequences with the blood-pumping rhythm at a speed of 130 to 150 BPM invariably with the noisy percussion.
