The Devil Bat (1940)

Welcome to the 1940s, where the Phantom Erik and Lester Reaper are ready to break open the vault in style with a spotlight on none other than Bela Lugosi. Lugosi had a busy decade in the 1930s, but by the turn of the 40s, he was looking to kickstart his career again. With the horror genre looking for some touch-up work down in the poverty row studios, Lugosi was more than welcome to help regenerate the genre he made famous a decade prior. Listen to the Phantom and his charismatic sidekick as they explore Lugosi's return to horror in 1940's "The Devil Bat", a film that also tried to re-establish the genre as a mainstay in American film. Will it succeed? I guess you'll have to listen to the remaining 100 Years of Horror to find out!
