Les Vampires (1915)

In 1915, moviegoers were treated to more than just standard feature film fare. Cartoons, newsreels and episodic serial films entertained the masses, including in France were the public was first introduced to Musidora, one of early cinema’s first ‘vamps’. In Les Vampires, Musidora plays the eclectic Irma Vep, part of a gang of criminals involved in several murderous schemes and trying to escape the capture of journalist Phillipe Guerande. Let yourself become seduced by the bite of the Phantom Erik as he explores early serial films, including this classic by celebrated French director, Louis Feuillade.
