Wherever you look these days, there is a sound for every mood and emotion. Some to amp you up, some to help you cope. Luckily, Mixcloud is a home for these genres to grow, and we want to show some love to them.
K-SLICE is a radio presenter and producer at Voices Radio, with an additional slot over at G-SHOCK Radio. Every second and fourth Wednesday of the month, she’s on the airwaves unleashing the colourful nuances of club music that mean the most to her. We asked her to share a selection of sounds she’s into at the moment and she didn’t disappoint. Collating several genres under the banner of ‘Global Future Fusion’ she captures the variety and unpredictability of modern global music.
“Global Future Fusion represents the vibrant blend of sounds I love.” K-SLICE tells Mixcloud. “Afro‑Portuguese diasporic energy, Latin-infused rhythms, soulful textures, jazzy percussive grooves, and future-leaning club influences.” Scroll down to hear these sounds in full flow.
Worldwide FM – Global Roots: Thris Tian with JD Reid and Dele Sosimi Afrobeat Orchestra – 31-08-18
On this edition of Thris Tian’s popular Global Roots show on Worldwide FM, Thris enlists London-based music producer and DJ JD. Reid for a mix steeped in futuristic dance music. The result is three hours of bouncy vibrations that transport you to a dark, sweaty room in the middle of the club. Phone locked away as you jump to the beat. The mix contains a few of Reid’s original productions for added fun. It is a thrilling demonstration of what happens when sounds like Rap, Electronic and more worldly quirks come together and thrive.

Jamz Supernova – All Night Live from Jazz Cafe
The inconquerable Jamz Supernova knows a thing or two about bounce. For her first ever all night DJ set at London’s Jazz Cafe, the BBC 6 Music host and Future Bounce label boss gave us an exercise in experimentation. She blends sun-kissed African rhythms with modern House, Dance and Nu-Soul here to conjure up some real groove. Across her three-hour set, Jamz really opens the door to modern club music, how it can sound and where it has travelled.
Soho Radio – Bonita – 06/04/2021
This is a personal one for K-SLICE. Transmitting from Soho Radio, Bonita explores pure Latin vibrations, from Bossa Nova and Samba grooves to Marimba. Focused on music coming out in that part of the world in the 1970s and 1980s, the show is an insight into the Latin diaspora. It gives a cultural thread that other artists and creatives can tap into. “Bonita FM was one of the first platforms I ever connected with that truly celebrated Latin fusions in such a raw, authentic way,” K-SLICE shares. “In the early days of discovering radio for myself, it was spaces like this that gave me permission to lean into my Colombian side. To blend my cultural roots with my artistry and to share that energy unapologetically.”
