Ellen Ector is the 60-something year old founder of Gymnetics Fitness, a private, Atlanta-based fitness studio. We met Ellen at ZOOMA Annapolis, which she was running with one of her training clients. It’s a little hard to describe what it’s like to be in a room with Ellen – she’s a force. Not only is she beautiful, and extremely well dressed even in her workout clothes, but she feels powerful and people are inevitably drawn to her.
So it’s no wonder that Ellen and her daughter Lana have become a bit of a sensation in the Atlanta fitness community and nationwide. Inspired by the success of Black Girls Run!, Ellen and her daughter launched a DVD series called Black Girls Workout Too!, which is available on Amazon. They have also become celebrity trainers, and Ellen recently appeared on the Steve Harvey Show. With over 120,000 followers on Instagram, lots of people are obviously inspired by Ellen’s fitness journey.
