About the show

Playing tracks by

Dezarie, Zion Train feat Lua, Junkyard Productions, Waldeck, The Dubians and more.

November 2008 - What would Reggae, what would DUB be without the female touch of our Sistren? Fortunately, we'll never know.

Therefore: a Tribute to the Sistren!
The title of this mix is a bit deceptive. Why? Well, simply. This is not a Stricktly DUB Show. A tune can be DUB, but not Reggae. And a tune can be Reggae, but not DUB. Sure, you guessed it: this show has it all.

However, this Tribute to the "Dub Girls" does give a very good picture just what the female touch does in Reggae, and DUB. Tanya Stephen's "Pity", for example, is quite different than the opening track.

Let's take a closer look.

We go from DUB Fusion, Sub DUB to Reggae DUB, to Roots Reggae, to Dancehall. From a poem to a little slack slap, from some Righteous Lyrics to one of the best Bass players in UK DUB, who happens to be a Sistren too as part of Alpha and Omega.

Nuff Said.
