Wreck This Mess ~ Amsterdam ~ Ethno-Illogical Psycho-Radiographies ~ 20.03.15. This is a reconstruction of a 1986 cassette [K7] I compiled as a premium for donors to my radio show during WFMU’s annual fundraiser. I preferred at that time loud, dissonant, obstinate, irreverent & uncensored sound – a lot of this can't be aired on US radio – disturbingly existential post-punk: John Trubbee, Flipper, Butthole Surfers, Ism, & The Fall. The title alludes to the Butthole Surfers' album titles which threw seemingly total random words together: Rembrandt Pussyhorse / Locust Abortion Technician.
The K7 is expanded to inc. related material I couldn't squeeze on the original. The power of music during the Reagan Reign was its ability to articulate disgust [for straight zombie conformism] & the politics of art to undermine normalcy, all during the heyday of DIY [non-corporate-mediated] music. Rude, funny, ridiculous, disgusting, dangerous & recalcitrant. Enjoy.
