Kathy Shimmield joins me on The Mompreneur Model to share not only her company, but the funding project she has undertaken to move to the next level.
Kathy lauched iMommy (a virtual baby app) and it was showing a profit within 6 months. Every year it grew and she reinvested the money back into the app. Figuring out things as she went along, because no one was willing to help. Kathy made tons of mistakes but got back up and kept at it. Eventually iMommy was in the to 50 catagories in the under 5's...and still is.
Kathy also created Baby Monsters, Alien Babies, iMommy Retro, and soon to come out are Baby Faries and Baby Mermaids. In 2015 Kathy will be in discussion for an iMommy doll line. The issue Kathy has faced since Apple changed the rules for the kids category is having to re-do key elements of the app in order to get back on top.
