On this week's podcast, Karl, Laurie and Jared discuss Heidi Haverkamp's blogpost, "Why Congregations Shouldn't Work So Hard to Keep Their Young People," which appeared on the Collegeville Institute's blog. Boy it was a fun discussion, with Karl decidedly in Haverkamp's camp, so to speak, Jared wanting to knock down the tent poles of said camp, and Laurie more or less hovering on the camp's edge and wishing she could toast some marshmallows. Speaking of marshmallows, and the fire that's needed to toast them, we next discussed the descent of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, in keeping with this week's lectionary. Finally, we decided that we'd all rather be blades of grass, even if they do occassionally get squashed by tents, in our discussion of the hymn of this week, Now the Green Blade Riseth.
