This week Karl and Laurie respond to last week's calvacade of news, from the bombing in Boston, to the manhunt, to the senate's failure to pass gun control legislation. We ask the question - do we really live in a violent culture, and if so, what is a Christian's proper response to violence? To get the conversation rolling, we look at both Jeffrey Overstreet's article "Django Unchained and the Quest for Revenge" in Christianity Today and Scott R. Paith's Christian Century article "What Culture of Violence?" We move from there to a consideration of John 13:31-35, and the bravery of Mary. Then we start a new segment in which we talk about patristics, this week focusing on Saint Anthony of Egypt.
