Playing tracks by
Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Average White Band, The Knack, Lou Reed, Carl Douglas and more.
In 2012 I acted as DJ at my school reunion party and for the occasion put together a load of mixes, cramming in as much of the music as possible that we loved (and hated!) from the era in question (1973-1980). I have now adapted these slightly to fit this format, and added a few tracks that weren't played on the night due to time restrictions. However, apart from that it is pretty much as heard then. With a couple of exceptions (see part four), I made a "rule" that each act be allowed only one track regardless of their status (although a few artists such as Bryan Ferry, Phil Lynott and Lemmy appear more than once in different guises).
This is an expanded version of the third of three mixes that were originally programmed as background music whilst attendees mingled with each other prior to the "proper" disco later on in the evening (the last four tracks were actually played as part of the disco).
By the way, that's me in the top-left hand corner of the photo!
