On Thursday's, January 28th broadcast, I will chat with Diane Falkenhagen & Sandie Zilker. Diane Falkenhagen, http://www.dianefalkenhagen.com, a studio jeweler with a private studio on Galveston Island, was recently resurrected after Hurricane Ike’s destruction in 2008. Diane is best known for her one-of-a-kind, mixed media compositions that often combine characteristic pictorial imagery with fabricated metal forms and a diverse range of art media. Her work has been exhibited widely and published in numerous magazines and books including: American Craft, Metalsmith, Ornament, and several of the Lark 500 Series books. Aside from her studio work, Diane teaches workshops nationally and is “growing” a small jewelry/metalsmithing program at Alvin Community College, just south of Houston. She currently serves on the advisory board of the Galveston Arts Center and is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Society of North American Goldsmiths.
