If I had to choose to be stranded on a desert island with just one's band music, I'd choose Paradise Lost. After all, it's hard to name another band with as long and varied a history of releases, with remarkably few mis-steps along the way. (We'll talk about Believe in Nothing next podcast.)
Paradise Lost celebrates 25 years as a band this year, so this is the first of two podcasts celebrating the career of Paradise Lost. This podcast covers material ranging from the early death metal of their "Frozen Illusion" demo to the melancholy synthesizer-driven rock of Host. I'm hoping in this podcast to not only give a sense of the band's whole career, but also to bring out a few songs besides the ones that perennially appear on best of/greatest hits lists.
Nearly all of the releases played in this episode are available in the United States from http://www.cmdistro.com, except for Host, which is pretty easy to track down on Amazon or other sources.
