From the moment you are born to the day you die, you're on a journey. You’re a traveler, a tourist, a pilgrim in the journey called life.
Along the way you will encounter points of decision, difficulties, guidance and advice. You’ll have moments of peace and security. You’ll also have times of conflict and discouragement. You will experience the love of friends and the hatred of enemies. You’ll feel doubt and despair, but also hope and blessing.
The biggest question for all of us is: Where are we going? Where are we headed? What is our destination? There’s a book called Pilgrim’s Progress, written by John Bunyan in 1678, which chronicles the journey of a pilgrim. It was the first English novel ever written, and is one of the bestselling novels of all time.
This summer at Gateway Church we are taking a journey through Pilgrim’s Progress, to see this fascinating story and what it can say about our own lives.
