Omar Tyree, a New York Times best-selling author, a 2001 NAACP Image Award recipient for Outstanding Literature in Fiction, a 2006 Phyllis Wheatley Literary Award winner for Body of Work in Urban Fiction, and a 2010 HBCU Legends Award recipient, has been cited by the City Council of Philadelphia for his work in Urban Literacy, and has published 19 books with 2 million copies sold worldwide.
