This mix is my first time releasing, a non-beat matched mix on mixcloud. I had the idea instead to mix in a variety of environmental effects under the songs, to give the listener a more atmospheric experience. From breaking waves, to jungle showers, I tried to keep the effects non-intrusive for most of the songs.

You will be happy to know, I played Willie K at the actual event, and closed out the night with Iz. :)

DJ.. Wonderful... I love it... LOL, but you know me, there is so much more of Hawaii and the Pacific out there.. You need to make more..more.. more... You forgot Brother IZ... Brother Nolan, Uncle Willie K, so many... BUt this I love.. it's on the iPod for the hanging by the water or just wanting to be there.. Thanks!!!

Makes me wish I were at Trader Sam's, my favorite watering hole. Another great mix, thanks!

This is a fantastic mix. We went to the Big Island of Hawaii in 2011, and this is taking me back to that state of mind. Waking up to the sight of Mauna Kea in the distance, the cool Pacific water crashing on black sand beaches, the beauty of Waipio Valley.... This mix is at times peaceful, thoughtful, adventurous, and--like the Big Island itself--a little bit of everything. Also, as a ukulele enthusiast (I own five of the little bastards), I love it. Nice job, Josh!

Wow!!!...I love it!. I like a lot the change of atmospheres, the begining so relaxing and that sensation of tropical dreaming and then "Martini Five-O", "Blue Hawaii" (really Blue because almost make cry...:P) and "Tahiti: A Summer Night At Sea"...ok, those 3 songs move strong feelings and love it. But luckily Tangaroa change the mood and then surf rock cure souls(?)...U.u. "Lilikoi" is one of my fave songs, and I don't want to forget Johnny Cash. I need to tell you that I cant get out of my mind "The Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room"...O_o. A really lovely mix, I enjoy it a lot and i like how you work the atmosphere, congrats and thanks...:)
(...and the swing always the swing...)

D'oh... I just realized I forgot a few artists... "Iz" really deserved to be on this, as did Tevaka.
