Hailing from Detroit and residing in Orlando, Velz is an acclaimed house music DJ and producer.
In 1998, at the ripe age of 18, Velz started spinning records in Kalamazoo. After more than a decade of DJing at late-night events in Detroit and Chicago, Velz began his trek to pursue music production professionally in 2014, releasing music on his own imprint, Massive Florida.
Velz produces house and deep house, citing his musical influences as Frankie Knuckles, Derrick May, Paul Johnson and more. To obtain his unique sound, Velz uses a mixture of hardware synths and software, also incorporating his Detroit and Chicago roots into his music.
In addition to opening for several DJs including DJ Craze, DJ Shiftee, Ean Golden and Aux 88, Velz is also credited with throwing a series of popular events called Midi Fight Club based on Controllerism in Tampa and Miami, which featured the world’s best DJs.
