I had a long playlist with 70's and 80's classic funk but I realised I might as well split them up into two separate decades, so 70's is yet to be mixed.
The transition from 70's to 80's , the music industry introduced the drum machines - those technical marvels supposedly easily programmable and never had a hangover :) Well, often times many bands lost their unique selfs cause they all followed the pre-set sounds of the TR808's and alike.
When I grew up I was fascinated by the talented black musicians who often populated the charts and the TV shows, always bringing us something new, soulful and funky.
I was just a kid listening to Charlie Wilson of the GAP Band, the Dazz Band, of course the Guru George Clinton, The Fatback Band, Cameo, The Ohio Players, Sly Stone, Arthur Baker and last but not least Michael Jackson.
I couldn't resist some MJ at the end.
