Have you ever looked around the church and felt like someone was just dead weight? They don’t really do much, or they are a drain on resources, or maybe you just don’t understand them so they could be let go and no one would probably ever notice. Sometimes we start to think the church is a place for healthy people, but we forget all come sick and find healing as part of the church. That’s a process, though. There’s a quality which helps promote health in the body of Christ, and it is acceptance. The parts of the body don’t have the responsibility of deciding what other parts are necessary but only Jesus can do that. Paul says something profound in 1 Corinthians 12 as we see those who are weaker have incredible potential as part of Christ’s body. They may need more encouraging, love, and patience, but are worth it to Jesus.
