Episode Description: In this talk, Dr. Thompson focuses on two key concepts: cognition as embodied action and the notion of cognitive ecology. Providing an overview of 4E cognition, an  approach which emphasizes embodiment,  embededness, extendedness and enaction Dr. Thompson sketches out the sociocultural processes that are part of cognition and discusses the implications of the cognitive ecology framework for the scientific study of contemplative practices.
