What is the covenant of redemption? Louis Berkhof defines it this way: "The covenant of redemption may be defined as the agreement between the Father, giving the Son as Head and Redeemer of the elect, and the Son, voluntarily taking the place of those whom the Father had given Him.” Non-Reformed believers object to this truth and argue that this covenant does not exist in the Bible. Does the Bible give evidence of such a covenant and how does it relate to the doctrine of election and the atonement? Dr. Sean Cole attempts to explain this doctrine biblically.
