7.31.16 - "New Eyes; New Perspective"

Colossians 3:1-14 In baptism our hearts are circumcised; the old way of sinful nature is cast off and the new self is put on. We use baptism as an outward sign of this inward grace.  The emphasis is no longer on the flesh and physical; instead the rebirth of faith is inward and spiritual. When we receive baptism, we commit ourselves to journeying with Jesus through our lives.  Jesus leads, we follow. This change is lifelong and is not about the destination, but rather the moment to moment love and grace in which we live and breath.  We are hidden in Christ and Christ is our life. So why do we find ourselves still struggling to live a life of holiness?  Because we're human and less than perfect. So why do we regard ourselves as "better than" or "holier than" others if we are all equal in the eyes God?  Good question.
