10.16.16 - "God-Breathed" (2 Timothy 3:14-4:5)

2 Timothy 3:14-4:5  &  Jeremiah 31:27-34 God has always been interested in working through humans and instilling wisdom and promise within our hearts.  We have been given a great gift by many who have gone before us; we have a collection of 66 books containing all that is useful and necessary for our salvation, instruction, correction, and training in righteousness. What is it about the Bible that has been drawing Christians in since it was officially collected together 1,700 years ago?  Why have people been passing this collection down through the generations with such high regard? Because, Paul says, all scripture is God-breathed. What does this mean? What does it not mean? Let us consider the use of the term inspiration (breathed) to help us make sense of the unique divine quality of the scripture.
