The unofficial Creation Records mix in anticipation of the movie 'Upside Down'. Director Danny O'Connor has made a movie about the story of the UK indie label that rose from a tiny 1980s cult label to rave culture beacon with Primal Scream and finally mega stardom with Oasis in the mid-1990s before it imploded. Here's the original music from the pre-Oasis days that made Creation Records' reputation as the hippest label in town between 1984 and 1990. We start of with a track by 60's Psych/Mod band The Creation who lend their name to the label and to label owner Alan McGee's own band Biff Bang Pow. 60's influences shaped much of the label's sound in the early days by bands like The Jasmine Minks, The Bodines and Biff Bang Pow.The Jesus And Mary Chain caused a furore on the scene with their McGee-produced debut single 'Upside Down' - featured here in all it's original 7" glory. Plus you get some rarities by one-hit wonders The X-Men, Meat Whiplash and Les Zarjaz.
