A name is a big deal. A name signifies meaning, purpose, and identity. There is a difference between being given a name and trying to make a name for yourself. Most of us were given a name at birth and then spend the rest of our lives trying to make a name for ourselves. The tragic irony is that we may make a name for ourselves when it comes to our career or accomplishments only to lose our identity. Throughout the pages of Scripture, God would occasionally call on someone to change the course of events or to meet a need without ever mentioning their name. These individuals were never given fame, money, or recognition, but they were given something infinitely more valuable and eternal. These no-named heroes were used by an extraordinary God and in the process found their true identity.
