“His [God’s] intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, according to his eternal purpose which he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Ephesians 3:10-11)
Many people view church as just a place to come to once a week, on Easter or at Christmas, or for the occasional wedding or funeral. For them, it doesn’t have any more influence in their lives than any club or social group might. Others may view the church as being irrelevant, judgmental, or intolerant.
But when God dreamed up the Church, He clearly had something quite different and much greater in mind for it. His dream entails His Church being a living, breathing organism made up of individuals who realize that they are it! They are the Church. He intends that they be His agent to forever change people’s lives and restore hope in their circumstances. In this sense, the Church is very personal.
